Bosjökloster is located on a peninsula in Ringsjön in the middle of Skåne. It was originally founded as a Benedictine monastery in the 12th century. Since 1560, the castle has been privately owned. Today, the castle is run by the Bonde family, known since the 14th century. For almost a millennium, the development here has been marked by exciting and transformative historical events such as the arrival of Christianity in Scandinavia, the Reformation and the wars between Denmark and Sweden when Skåne became Danish.
We offer guided tours of the gardens, the church, the exhibitions and parts of the castle where we tell you all about this exciting history.
Bosjökloster is a destination for all ages and here you can experience both culture, animals and nature. You can see both art and historical exhibitions in the castle, enjoy the gardens and walk in the park. And then you can visit the zoo and meet the animals. Don’t forget to visit the thousand-year-old oak tree. You can also borrow a boat for a trip on the lake and take a dip from the pier.
