Hanakällan (also known as Hanna killa) is probably named after a Hanna who lived in a small cottage nearby. The water is very fresh and never freezes because new water is constantly pumped up from the bedrock below. This was practical for the residents of the nearby soldiers’ cottages, who collected their water here.
Back in the days you’d be encouraged to take a refreshing sip of the water, as it was said it would have magical powers. Nowadays, it’s best to filter the water before drinking it.
You can reach the spring by taking the Dansbanerundan loop in Fulltofta Hiking Area. A trail that starts from the Dansbanan parking area. The nature trail is varied – partly stony and in places on boardwalks. The hike takes you through majestic beech forest, dense spruce forest and young woodland. You also pass the cottage ruin Vasahus.
