Guide: 6 tips for a successful conference

Time to plan this year’s conference? We’ve gathered tips on what to keep in mind for a successful conference.

We’ll help you plan a successful conference. Below are useful tips and things to consider.

1. Purpose

Start by defining the purpose of your conference. Are you there to make important decisions, or is it mainly about sharing information? Is team-building a priority, or is the most important thing simply to spend time together without pressure? What’s the budget? Should the conference run over several days?

2. Reflect your company’s image

The purpose usually determines the format of a meeting, conference or kick-off. It’s also important that the conference reflects your brand image. Choose a venue and activities that feel like “you” as a company and that support what you want to communicate.

3. Phone-free setting

Consider creating phone-free moments. When people put their phones away it becomes easier to focus, connect and be present.

4. Fresh air

Plan time outdoors – a walk, a hike, a campfire lunch or another nature experience. Fresh air does wonders for both energy and creativity.

5. Activities that fit your group

Mix and match activities based on your team and your goal: a cooking activity, a tasting, a paddling trip, a guided tour – or something more action-packed like paintball.

6. Just be

Don’t cram in too many agenda items. Scheduling time to “just be” is one of the best things you can do for a successful conference – that’s when the best ideas are born.
