Lund resident: Eslöv is a gem

Lund resident: Eslöv is a gem

Christoffer Borg Mattisson

It’s probably not common for a Lund resident to abandon their city in favor of a much smaller one, with the motivation of pursuing culture and going out to eat. But Pernilla Fältskär did. And she was, to say the least, very happy with her evening.

– It’s really not something I go to Eslöv on a regular basis, Pernilla says.

– But I like the artist Pelle Ossler. So last year I went there to see his oil paintings at Galleri M. I was very impressed with both the exhibition, the place and not least Pia Tapper who owns Galleri M.

Culture and good food

Pernilla says that when she was going to book a meeting with a former colleague who lives in Eslöv, she immediately thought of Galleri M again.

– I had heard that there would be a photo exhibition by Brutus Östling and I really wanted to see it, she explains.

She and her colleague booked a day for the visit to Galleri M and then wanted to end the meeting with a bite to eat and a glass of wine.

– My colleague didn’t know of any particular place we could go. So we googled and found the newly opened Getruds Kök & bar. It was right next to the station. So for that reason it felt perfect for me, comments Pernilla.

After a magical photo exhibition at Galleri M, they landed at Gertruds Kök & bar. There they ate, among other things, Jerusalem artichoke soup, pork cheek and pickled chanterelles.

– It was absolutely fantastic. We ate a whole menu and drank delicious wine. It was affordable, great food and very nice staff. I was really pleasantly surprised.

A whole evening

Pernilla, who is a big enthusiast of different types of culture and enjoys good food and good wine, has only positive things to say about the offerings in Eslöv.

– I will definitely go here more times. It is a real gem! Just 10 minutes by train from Lund you will find peace, culture and a wonderful restaurant with a cozy bistro feel.
