Stora Ringsjöleden (188 km)

This route is for you if you want to cycle far and for a long time. It’s also for those who want to experience all of MittSkåne in day stages and stay in different places. For example, start at Eslöv train station and cycle towards Ringsjön. Enjoy fantastic views over the water—Skåne’s jewel—before continuing through Stehag past Trollenäs Castle and through Mölleriket, partly on gravel roads. After Tjörnarp the hills begin, but they’re well worth it for the beautiful views. There are several chances for a swim before you reach the top of Linderödsåsen. Up here you’ll find a BikePoint at Lina & Eva’s country store. When the route starts heading down you reach Önneköp with a country store, restaurant and bakery. On smaller roads you head down towards the Vombsjösänkan lowlands past Hjularöd Castle. At Bligehöj you can see out over the whole plain. After a steep descent you reach the Kävlingeån River, cross it, and then follow it all the way to the trio of castles: Svenstorp, Örtofta and Ellinge. There is also a BikePoint at Bränneriets Gård. Shortly after, you’re back in Eslöv. The route connects wonderful accommodation options and exciting places to eat, and there are many opportunities to experience peace and countryside. It’s easy to shorten this route with the train, which connects at Eslöv, Örtofta, Stehag, Höör and Tjörnarp.

Ringsjön Loop – a Skåne cycling celebration

Ringsjön Runt is a cycling event for the whole family, held every year in early summer. There are four routes ranging from 35 to 120 km.

Lilla Ringsjöleden (51 km)

This 51 km suggested route lets you experience Ringsjön and everything this fantastic lake in the heart of Skåne has to offer. There are several places to stay, a spa and great food. Explore all sides of Ringsjön with a boat trip or a swim. If you start in Höör, you roll south towards Sätofta. On small roads you pass between villas, cottages and stork nests. South of the lakes you cycle close to the water. You then head east on small roads before climbing up to the heights that offer beautiful views over the lake in several places. A BikePoint is located in Höör at Stiftsgården Åkersberg—an excellent place to stay, eat and visit the spa. Trains run from Höör and Stehag.

Linderödsåsen (52 km)

The tour starts in Hörby and takes you up, up, up along the old railway embankment to Linderöd. Here you turn off towards Kilhult where you’ll find the BikePoint at Lina & Eva’s country store. Then it levels out for a while until you reach Önneköp with a country store, bakery and food service. After that it’s mostly downhill all the way back to Hörby. If you want to get here by train, make the tour a bit longer and start in Höör.

Fyra slott 59 km

This route presents a quartet of Skåne castles. You start in Eslöv. The first beautiful castle you encounter is Ellinge. Then you pass the BikePoint at Bränneriets Gård with a farm shop and food service. Make a detour when you get into Örtofta to see castle number two. Almost immediately after leaving Örtofta you’ll see Svenstorp Castle. You cross the Kävlingeån and might glimpse Viderup Castle to the north. After a proper climb, you pass the fourth castle at Löberöd. Then the cycle route continues all the way to Ringsjön—Skåne’s jewel. After that you roll back to Eslöv. The route offers accommodation in several places and food options of various kinds. Trains run to Eslöv and Örtofta.

Mölleriket (59 km)

This tour takes you close to water and countryside. Starting in Höör, you cycle uphill through the Frostavallen recreation area past Dagstorpssjön where you can swim. From Hallaröd you roll downhill to the Rönneå River outside Billinge. The route takes you through Mölleriket, known for its many watermills. Then it’s uphill again to Trolleholms Castle. Soon you reach Västra Strö, near Trollenäs Castle. You continue past the Bosarps jär nature reserve through deciduous woodland on a winding road into Stehag. Along the route, in addition to Höör, there are several places to stay, cafés, a grocery store and swimming opportunities. Trains run to Höör and Stehag.

Fyra sjöar (80 km)

This tour is for you if you want to cool off regularly. Starting in Höör, you pass Lake Tjörnarpssjön, Lake Kvesarumssjön, Lake Bosarpasjön and, last but not least, Ringsjön. And you may well need a dip after many lovely hills up and down. From Linderöd you speed along the old railway embankment all the way into Hörby. The route passes several places to stay in the towns, in Frostavallen and by Ringsjön. Places to eat can be found in Tjörnarp and Fulltofta. Trains run to Höör and Tjörnarp.

Toppen 91 km

This tour passes close to MittSkåne’s highest point, which is also Skåne’s second highest. So this is a tour for those who like hills. From Hörby you cycle up onto Linderödsåsen along the old railway embankment and then on small roads to the BikePoint at Lina & Eva’s country store. Soon you’ve reached a high point at 185 m a.s.l. The highest peak at 212 m a.s.l. is just north of Önneköp. Then you head downhill towards Öveds Kloster. A few more hills await along the ridge above the Vombsjösänken lowlands, taking you past Hjularöd Castle and the viewpoint at Bligehöj. The lowest point at 56 m a.s.l. is reached at Ringsjön. The suggested tour has several nice places to stay, eat and stock up. If you want to get here by train, make the tour a bit longer and start in Eslöv or Höör.

Mölleriket and Stehag

In the area around Stockamöllan, Billinge and Stehag there are many almost car-free gravel roads and several walking and cycling paths. Together with a varied cultural landscape and plenty of café stops, this makes the area a perfect excursion destination for cyclists. The tours range from a few kilometres up to several tens of kilometres, and there are many ways to vary them. The cycling loops are not marked out in nature.

Önneköp

The cycling loops in the area around Kölleröd and Önneköp make it easy for you as a visitor to find your own favourite spot along the gently trafficked roads east of Hörby. The loops invite cycling of up to 20 km but are also suitable for hiking. Several can be combined for those who want to cycle even farther. Olofs and Pickelhattakroken, however, are better suited for hiking.

Önneköps Lanthandel offers bike rental; all bikes are women’s models and helmets are included. Bike baskets are available on all bikes, and child seats are also available.

Rail trail Hörby – Kristianstad

The old railway embankment between Hörby – Tollarp – Kristianstad is 43 km long and runs along asphalt and gravel roads, on narrower and wider sections. Along the way you can enjoy old station buildings and railway keeper’s cottages and experience the beautiful Linderödsåsen ridge and the flat landscape towards Kristianstad.

Rail trail Örtofta – Kävlinge

Between Örtofta and Kävlinge the railway embankment remains as a gravelled cycle path. Along the way you pass a couple of stations and the Lilla Harrie railway keeper’s cottage. The trail is just over 10 km long.
