Take your motorcycle, vintage car or regular car out for a spin and head off on great trips. Sk\u00e5ne\u2019s best road trips follow wonderfully long country roads and offer driving experiences through beautiful landscapes, rolling fields and scenic areas.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n \n \n

We share 5 of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips for different experiences. The middle of Sk\u00e5ne is known for the opportunity to experience great trips by motorbike, vintage car, camper and car. There are country roads here for both day trips, long trips and group rides. In addition, there are a number of meeting points where you can meet other enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

1. The Country Road<\/h4>\n

Start one of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips in Esl\u00f6v and drive road 113 towards G\u00e5rdst\u00e5nga. Turn off towards Skarhult and then continue towards Hurva. You drive past the Sk\u00e5ne plains and rolling fields. At Hurva you continue north towards Ringsj\u00f6n and you pass road 17 on the way to S\u00f6dra Munkarp. With a lovely view of Ringsj\u00f6n on the right side you can enjoy the journey towards Stehags church<\/em>. There you keep to the right and pass Sj\u00f6holmen and Orman\u00e4s. After Orman\u00e4s it is time to stop at Backag\u00e5rden<\/em> for lunch or coffee.<\/p>\n

Backag\u00e5rden<\/a><\/em> is often a good meeting point for people interested in cars and MCs. They also offer accomodation for those who want to stay for longer.<\/p>\n

Continue the route towards S\u00e4tofta where you can make a detour at J\u00e4gersbo camping<\/a><\/em>. Here, refreshments are served and there is a swimming area to use when the weather permits. A little further south is Fulltofta where there are nice hiking trails and you can have a coffee at the Fulltofta nature center<\/a><\/em>. Enjoy nature and good coffee.<\/p>\n

Play a round of soccer golf<\/h6>\n

To continue the route along smaller country roads and open countryside, drive towards Slagtofta, \u00c4spinge and then turn south towards K\u00f6inge, Boarp and towards \u00d6stra Sallerup. Here you drive west again over road 13 and then north towards S\u00f6derto. Here you can take a break and play football golf at S\u00f6derto football golf.<\/em><\/p>\n

From S\u00f6derto, H\u00f6rbyv\u00e4gen goes towards the village of L\u00f6ber\u00f6d and past L\u00f6ber\u00f6d Castle back towards Skarhult and Esl\u00f6v.<\/p>\n

2. The Group Tour<\/h4>\n

Another of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips is for those of you who want to drive together in a group. Start in Malm\u00f6 by taking the highway via Burl\u00f6v to Lund and then continue along the small roads past S\u00f6dra Sandby, Flyinge and Skarhult towards Br\u00e4nneriet’s G\u00e5rd<\/a> where it’s easy to park and you can all enjoy some really good home-cooked food and coffee.<\/p>\n

The tour continues on country roads with lovely views towards Remmarl\u00f6v<\/a> where there is a beer brewery. Guided tours of the brewery can be booked there. Then you continue on towards V\u00e4stra Str\u00f6, R\u00f6nneholm and towards Norra R\u00f6rum. After Norra R\u00f6rum you can turn north to take a detour towards Tj\u00f6rnarp which is a nice little village to discover. If the weather permits, there is a nice swimming spot at Tj\u00f6rnarpsj\u00f6n.<\/p>\n

Meeting points for motorcyclists and veteran cars<\/h6>\n

Then take the small, lovely roads past S\u00f6dra R\u00f6rum. A good place for many motor vehicles and groups of riders to stop at is Eker\u00f6dsrasten<\/em>. If you want to drive a little further, continue past Eke\u00f6rd and the E22 towards Svensk\u00f6p and Killhult. There you will find Lina & Eva’s country store, which is a meeting point for many different types of motor vehicles. They often invite you to barbecue evenings during the summer months and large events for motorcyclists and vintage cars.<\/p>\n

The wonderful nature on this side of the middle of Sk\u00e5ne and the lovely country roads will then take you towards \u00d6nnek\u00f6p where you can both have a coffee and shop at the country store.<\/p>\n

The road back towards Malm\u00f6 goes via \u00d6straby, Harl\u00f6sa and Torna H\u00e4llestad. Perhaps you will extend the feeling of the countryside and continue past Genarp, Vismarsl\u00f6v and Bara before you are back in Malm\u00f6.<\/p>\n

3. The caf\u00e9 tour<\/h4>\n

One of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips starts on the west coast and then winds along the country roads to try different coffee shops in small picturesque and unusual places in the middle of Sk\u00e5ne. Northeast of K\u00e4vlinge you will find Resl\u00f6v Olstorp’s caf\u00e9<\/em> which is a coffee shop in an old mill. Unfortunately it is only open for events. So if you are a group going, it is worth booking.<\/p>\n

The small roads from Esl\u00f6v towards S\u00f6der\u00e5sen take you past Stockam\u00f6llan and Billinge. If you continue the small roads towards H\u00f6\u00f6r, you can have waffles at Sweets on the Streets<\/a><\/em> at V\u00e4stern\u00e4s Handelstr\u00e4dg\u00e5rd<\/em> in H\u00f6\u00f6r during the summer months.<\/p>\n

Otherwise, you can continue a bit south of H\u00f6\u00f6r, between \u00d6stra and V\u00e4stra Ringsj\u00f6n down towards Bosj\u00f6kloster. Here you can have a coffee or eat at MAT & KaKa<\/a><\/em> or at Bosj\u00f6kloster Slott & Tr\u00e4dg\u00e5rdar<\/a><\/em>. Take the opportunity to take a walk in the park and enjoy the view towards Ringsj\u00f6n.<\/p>\n

Farm style fika and retro caf\u00e9s<\/h6>\n

If you drive from H\u00f6\u00f6r on the north side of Ringsj\u00f6n towards H\u00f6rby, you should definitely continue further east towards \u00d6stra Sallrup to have a coffee at the bonnafiket Butik Gul<\/em>. A true farm experience where good food is served and you can find a lot of flea market finds. They won Sk\u00e5ne’s best caf\u00e9 in 2017 by Magasin Sk\u00e5ne, so it’s always a nice coffee shop. They are open during the season and some weekends. Otherwise, \u00d6nnek\u00f6p bakery<\/em> is a safe bet. They are usually always open on weekends.<\/p>\n

The coffee shop that touches and leaves lasting memories is Kaf\u00e9 Kagan<\/em>. Here you are thrown back 100 years in time and you are served freshly brewed coffee in old-fashioned tableware and homemade cakes. You can also buy fine old-fashioned nails, shirts and other little things.<\/p>\n

From Kaf\u00e9 Kagan<\/em> and Hemmenk\u00f6p<\/em> take Degebergav\u00e4gen past Fr\u00e4nninge and down to Vombsj\u00f6n. Here you can have a coffee at Sj\u00f6g\u00e5rden’s caf\u00e9<\/em> by Vombsj\u00f6n. They are known for their waffles and coffee served in traditional beech jugs. If you are craving something more substantial, drive all the way to Skafferiet in Harl\u00f6sa.<\/p>\n

The coffee-hungry person drives on towards Flyinge and stops to peek into the nursery and have a coffee at the caf\u00e9 before the journey takes you back towards the west coast.<\/p>\n

4. The historic route<\/h4>\n

Another of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips is a tour for those interested in discovering sights and historical sites. For some of the places it may be a good idea to check opening hours before departure. But most of them you visit on your own and guide yourself with the help of information signs. So bring a picnic or stop at one of the many coffee and food places<\/a> along the way.<\/p>\n

From the west coast, take the small roads towards Stockam\u00f6llan and Billinge. There you will find Gamleg\u00e5rds Hembygdsmuseum<\/em>. An exciting place that was mentioned as early as 1283 in the archives of Lund Cathedral. Here you will find, among other things, a cottage complex from 1739 with preserved furnishings, handicrafts, an old inn building, a shoemaker’s shop and a trading post.<\/p>\n

Continue on to H\u00f6\u00f6rs m\u00f6lla<\/em> \u2013 a caf\u00e9 that is an old wheel mill by the H\u00f6\u00f6r\u00e5n in Stenskogen. It is open during the summer season and well worth a visit if you are craving waffles. Once there at H\u00f6\u00f6r\u00e5n, you can take the opportunity to look at the sculpture Mittelen<\/a> by artist Lars Ekholm. Mittelen is intended to mark the center of Sk\u00e5ne!<\/p>\n

Continue north from H\u00f6\u00f6r towards Tj\u00f6rnarp and discover Gunnarps brickworks, which was a major employer in the area in the late 19th century. A piece of industrial history that ended in the mid-20th century. Here you guide yourself through the old buildings of the mill with the help of information boards.<\/p>\n

Magical springs<\/h6>\n

From H\u00f6\u00f6r you take S\u00f6dra R\u00f6rumsv\u00e4gen towards Onsvalak\u00e4llan<\/em> which according to legend is said to be the source of Odin. The water in Onsvalak\u00e4llan is so clean that you can drink it. You need to park your motor vehicle and walk the last part. Enjoy the place which is magically located in the middle of a forest.<\/p>\n

Have you developed a taste for springs? Then you can visit the Sankta Magnhild spring<\/em> just a few kilometers south. Sankta Magnhild was a pious woman who took care of the poor and sick. She was declared a saint and many made pilgrimages to her grave. Her remains are in Lund Cathedral.<\/p>\n

While you are here, also visit Fulltofta Church, which is located in a fantastic location with a view of the plain and Ringsj\u00f6n in the distance. The baptismal font is made of sandstone and there is also a window in the church that describes the story of Sankta Magnhild.<\/p>\n

Exciting ruins<\/h6>\n

On small roads past Osbyholm and Lyby you then make your way towards S\u00f6derto. In the middle of the plain you will find S\u00f6derto Fortress. A spectacular building that was constructed in the 1950s by an elderly farmer who wanted to defend himself in case the Russians came. He used old bed frames, pots and parts of cars for his construction.<\/p>\n

Then drive on small roads south towards V\u00e4sterstad. Here you will find a church ruin from the latter part of the 12th century. The church was made of whitewashed sandstone and was built by the same stonemason whose name is found in Dalby Church and Lund Cathedral. Sometimes the place is used for open-air services. But many people think that the old bare ruin feels like something out of a horror movie.<\/p>\n

Nostalgic BP-petrol station<\/h6>\n

From V\u00e4sterstad you drive south towards Harl\u00f6sa. A small, nice village in the middle of the countryside that boasts an old BP petrol station<\/a>. All year round, vintage cars are parked at the petrol station and signs are lit up as they used to be. However, you cannot refuel here.<\/p>\n

Then drive via Flyinge back towards the west coast.<\/p>\n

5. A route through nature<\/h4>\n

If there’s one thing that’s in the middle of Sk\u00e5ne, it’s beautiful nature. One of Sk\u00e5ne’s best road trips is being able to go away for a weekend and combine it with good food, drinks and beautiful nature.<\/p>\n

Drive out into the countryside on small roads past Torna H\u00e4llestad towards Harl\u00f6sa and then Vombsj\u00f6n. Here you can stop at Borstb\u00e4ckens nature reserve. You can bring food or coffee from Harl\u00f6sa skafferi or Sj\u00f6g\u00e5rdens caf\u00e9. Then drive further north towards H\u00f6rby. Take the small roads via L\u00f6ber\u00f6d, S\u00f6derto and on to Fulltofta. There is a fantastic green area with both longer and shorter walks. Here you can also have coffee at Fulltofta Naturcenter.<\/p>\n

Then drive a short distance north to Villa Granliden<\/a><\/em> to enjoy the evening and night there. They have a fantastic garden to enjoy and a little further into the forest there is a barbecue area by a small stream where you can grill your evening meal.<\/p>\n

A view of Ringsj\u00f6n<\/h6>\n

When it’s time to rest your body and mind, check into Kvarnbyn at Orman\u00e4sg\u00e5rden<\/a><\/em>. Each cottage has room for up to 6 guests. You also have a nice terrace with a barbecue and a view of V\u00e4stra Ringsj\u00f6n and the fields around! There is also plenty of space next to the cottages to park cars and motorcycles.<\/p>\n

The next morning, a trip north towards Tj\u00f6rnarp, S\u00f6sdala and Tykarpsgrottan on many nice country roads offers. Then turn south again to eat at Hardys, H\u00f6\u00f6rs g\u00e4stis<\/a><\/em> or Stiftsg\u00e5rden \u00c5kersberg<\/a>. After that, Frostavallen’s hiking trails and nature are a nice afternoon trip to take a walk. It is very close to H\u00f6\u00f6r so if you want to take a detour along lovely country roads, take the road around Norra R\u00f6rum in the north or drive south via Bosj\u00f6kloster and around V\u00e4stra Ringsj\u00f6n towards Frostavallen in that direction.<\/p>\n

Sleep beneath the beechs<\/h6>\n

If you want to sleep close to nature this night too, check in at Nyrups Naturhotell.<\/a> Here you stay comfortably in comfortable beds in woolen huts in the middle of the forest. Dinner and breakfast are included. With a nice hangout in the wood-fired sauna cabin in the evening, you will feel tired and happy when you go to bed at night. Lulled by the rustle of the deciduous trees.<\/p>\n

From Nyrups Naturhotell you then head south on the small roads towards R\u00f6nneholm, V\u00e4stra Str\u00f6 and stop for lunch at Br\u00e4nneriet’s g\u00e5rd<\/a>. Then it’s not far back to the west coast again.<\/p>\n
